SIMONE YANG

 

 

Paris and New York based filmmaker, Simone Yang was born and raised in Italy. 

 

After spending his adolescence organizing festivals and happenings, he started working in the cinema industry where his positions varied from scenographer to producer, to cinematographer, to director assistant.

All these experiences gave him a wide range of experiences that pushed him to start working by himself as filmmaker and director.

 

Between 2008 and 2013, he travelled and lived in several countries, working on almost 150 movies (fashion, music, corporate, viral, documentary,...) managing a full range of projects, from ones with a grand troupe of helicopters and techno-cranes to those of minimal, solo production. 

 

In 2013 he finally took his gap year; he sailed from Sicily to Brasil, where he created a concept beach restaurant on a tropical island and in the free time he started developing some personal artistic projects.

 

He is actually working on 3 feature films - in production - that will be ready between the end of 2015 and the beginning of 2016.

He is inspired by natural elements and the dimension of dreams; his style combines dynamism, musical taste and synaestethic storytelling.

 

He lives and works in Belleville, Paris.
